I decided it might be a good idea to try and write my process through getting to live from my passion. In a recap of what I think I did that lead to this point.
It probably started by starting stand-up, it’s something I always wanted to do and finally decided to quit thinking about it, and go out and do it. I think one of the biggest step one can take to live from his passions is to take action. After trying stand-up for a while I eventually got an opportunity to do radio, people mention how you sometimes have to start getting involved while looking out for new opportunities that can stem from this. I believe that getting the opportunity to do radio and taking it was another step in taking action that leads me to where I am now. So now after 2 years of doing radio my show evolved into a podcast and I’ve also listened to many other podcasts, some of which people are able to make a decent living from it that I decided that there isn’t really anything that should be separating me from these people who build a successful podcast from the ground up. So here I am taking a chance, hoping that I will be able to make some kind of living doing this.
My first podcast and being involved in every step from producing it to releasing it gave me the experience and confidence that I can do this again, and hopefully better. The hard part is to be at home and motivated to continue working on it.
The first step in my journey was to start a morning routine, The Miracle morning by Hal Elrod seemed like a good place to start, although I can’t say I apply everything in the book, I strongly believe that having a morning routine and waking up to an alarm even if you don’t have to is the best way to start the day productive. Meditation and exercise are also 2 things that I feel are very important.
I wrote down some initial goals I thought about what I wanted this second podcast to be about, and today I re-visited them. I think having goals like this helps set a clear vision of what needs to be done. I think it will be good for me to continue perfecting these goals and I should probably post them somewhere where I can read them daily.
Now I am committed that by next week I will be ready to do my first interview. For this I will need to have a clear idea of what I am trying to achieve, and write down the questions that I think will be pertinent to achieving these goals.
